It’s October, which officially means we’re at the start of spooky season. It also means it’s time for the newest Overwatch seasonal event. The Halloween Terror event will return for its third year, bringing even more scares to the hero shooter. The event starts on October 9, 2018 and runs the whole month, ending on October 31st.
The announcement was made on Twitter, with an ever so brief teaser:
There’s a rumor among explorers
About a monolithic lair
Home to terrifying horrors
Heroes, how will you prepare? pic.twitter.com/bAJaMIjcrM— Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) October 1, 2018
No specific details were given about this year’s event, though we do know Dr. Junkenstein will be making his grand return. This year, Chateau Guillard appears to be the epicenter of the haunts. The map, used for Deathmatch matches, is also Widowmaker’s home in France. For the event, the Chateau will receive an appropriately creepy makeover.
New skins for this year have not been revealed yet, though we’ll likely see the skins from previous years return. October is when we really get to see some out of the box ideas from the Overwatch team, so it’ll be exciting to see what they come up with for 2018. This is the first Halloween event for newly-introduced heroes Moira, Brigitte, and Wrecking Ball. Hopefully, we’ll see them join in on the spooky fun.
The Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018 event runs from October 1, 2018, to October 31, 2018.
