The PlayStation Classic has finally been announced! Sony’s miniaturized version of their very first video game console will have 20 games loaded right into it, allowing players to plug in and easily play those nostalgia-inducing titles. Only five titles have been announced so far—Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms—but that didn’t stop us from pitching our own ideas for what PlayStation Classic games we want to see. We know that some of the remaining 15 will be different depending on what region you buy the PlayStation Classic in.
Aside from what other games will be on the system, we wanted to know who on staff was playing to make a PlayStation Classic preorder. Is the mini-console worth buying? Have you already made your preorder, or are you waiting to see what else gets announced? Here’s what the PlayStation LifeStyle staff had to say.
Will You Make a PlayStation Classic Preorder?
With the PlayStation Classic now announced, will you be purchasing the mini console?

As much as I would love it for the sake of sheer nostalgia (I've been a PlayStation fan since the beginning), I don't even have the time to play the games I currently have on my PS4, let alone the classics. I also fear that they haven't aged all that well. We'll see how I feel as it gets closer, but I'm leaning towards a no on this one, to be honest.

It's a cool thing to own but I barely have enough time for the games I do have, let alone any time to go back and play all those classics, many of which I've already played. The last time I moved from one continent to another, I had to get rid of half of my gaming collection so I'm no longer a collector either. I'm good with my PS4.

I still own a PlayStation, so there is really no need for me to buy this and honestly, I won't ever play it.
Jenni Lada
I have a PlayStation 2 and all my discs, so I am not going to bother with this.
Keri Honea
I never had the original PlayStation, so I'm definitely intrigued.

I barely have enough time to play what I want on current systems, so I'll pass on this. But I'm sure it would be perfect for anyone who missed out on the original!

Hm, yeah I dunno, 100 bucks seems a lot just to play FF VII and Tekken (and 18 other games). So, I'll pass. Also, I still have my Atari 2600, the upgraded edition from 1984. If I'm going for "classic," might as well play what I played when I was a little kid. Yep, I'm very old.

I'll buy it because I bought the NES and SNES Classics and it resulted in an interest in collecting these "Classic" consoles both to satiate my nostalgia cravings, but also to collect a highly influential piece of history in a compact form.
I'm not so interested in the games, though. What I've learned from the NES and SNES Classic is that some classic titles are better left in the past. Sometimes in revisiting them, flaws are amplified by how far the industry has progressed in the over two decades since the original PlayStation that started it all launched. Other times I realized the games were just not as 'good' or 'fun' as I recalled them, in part because my young imagination has turned into the busy, clouded mind of an adult.
