During its PAX West 2018 panel, Telltale Games revealed first look footage from The Walking Dead: The Final Season‘s second episode. The video runs nearly four minutes long and features a quiet, but emotionally heavy, moment between Clementine and AJ.
Check out a sneak peek from the second episode, “Suffer the Children,” in the video below:
The video shows Clem waking from a nightmare to find AJ squatting near a window, knife in hand. They talk, lamenting the stressors of survival, but applauding each other for staying “tough.” The zombie apocalypse hasn’t been kind to either of them. Luckily, the two still have one another. This fact is poignantly punctuated when Clem convinces him to go back to sleep and they huddle together, hoping to chase the nightmares away. In short, we should all prepare for a whirlwind of emotions as the season presses on.
In non-Telltale Games fashion, the studio recently revealed the titles and release dates for every episode this season. Clem’s journey comes to an end, whatever that may mean, when the last episode releases on December 18, 2018.
Telltale summarizes The Walking Dead: The Final Season with the following:
Clementine, now a fierce and capable survivor, has reached the final chapter in her journey. After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be her chance for a home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. Clem must build a life and become a leader while still watching over AJ, an orphaned boy and the closest thing to family she has left. In this gripping, emotional final season, you will define your relationships, fight the undead, and determine how Clementine’s story ends.
