Owlboy has flown into some problems yet again. Specifically, there are issues with its Limited Edition release. After facing a second delay in North America, Owlboy Limited Edition was set to touch down in the U.S. September 28, 2018. While the game has made its way across the Atlantic, it’s currently being held by United States Customs.
In an official press release, a new timeline was provided:
The issue is currently being solved, but these procedures take some time, resulting in an additional waiting period for customers in North America. The new expected release date of the Limited Edition in North America is the 19th of October.
This Limited Edition release has been riddled with problems, so this situation sounds about right. We originally heard about the Limited Edition when Sodesco teased it on Twitter back in May 2018. This Limited Edition for both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch was set for July 13, 2018, and then it was delayed to ensure a worldwide release. After that, it was delayed again to August 31, 2018 for most regions, with the United States and Canada needing to wait until September 28, 2018; meaning a simultaneous worldwide release wasn’t going to happen after all.
Now if you’re in North American you can expect your copy of Owlboy Limited Edition October 19, 2018. Again, Owlboy is already available digitally and even got a standard edition release back in the spring. If you’re not sure about swooping up this game, be sure to check out our review.
